The answer is this was the ancient world. They did not have encyclopedia or personal biographers. Rarely do you have any writers write anything about your life. Joseph who was no more than common craftsmen had two within a century of his life. How many did Julius Cesar have. 0 . the first identified biographer was almost a thousand years latter. How about Alexander the Great. Again Zilch. This little know carpenter with no claim to fame other than having an impressive pedigree and a famous son. This is as impressive a historical account as you can get in a world where paper was a highly priced commodity.
